How to turn 500 views into 34,000
...by spending 1-2 hours repurposing your content
Hey!
I’ll be running off shortly to collect the keys to my new house, so stick around til the end if you wanna see a selfie of me in it.
(Or skip to the end and come back. It’ll be like you’ve travelled in time).
So with the mammoth task of moving all my Earthly possessions lying ahead of me today, this one’s gonna be short and sweet!
Let’s get into it…
I’m having a whale of a time working with Justin Moore at the mo.
We’re currently building his regular video cadence back up.
This first video we published did a little better than average and got a healthy response in the comments.
But by spending an additional 1-2 hours extracting short-form content from this 6 min video, we’ve hugely expanded its reach!
It really doesn’t take a lot of extra effort to identify several <1min segments of your main script, ready to convert to short-form.
Use my free scripting + repurposing template if you want!
(See below, where I’ve grabbed 5 punchy segments from the script and sorted into toggles.)
Once the main video is edited and you’ve identified the punchiest segments for short form, you can re-render those segments in vertical view, add subtitles using something like Descript, then you’re good to go.
Then you can upload to as many platforms as you want.
Let’s take a look at the extended reach this content received with another 2ish hours effort to repurpose.
Some stats:
Main video: 532 views + 38 likes + good engagement
Instagram Reel: 27.5k views + 777 likes + great engagement
TikTok: 2.8k views + 562 likes + great engagement
YouTube Shorts: 3.7k views + 104 likes + good engagement
Total: Additional 34k views, 1500 likes, and dozens more comments.
All with a couple more hours effort.
That’s all for now. Frantically writing this while my housemate makes me pizza.
To close, here’s a picture I took of myself in the new flat:
The timer was 1s too short. I just about made it in 🤣
Gotta run! Have a great weekend.
George 👋
I should really get to doing this - I'm actually very lazy to repurpose content though it's probably a lot easier than going to the effort of making an entirely new video!
